The Night Life

Hello again! I am beginning to feel like a very poor blogger since my co study abroaders seem to be more prompt at updating theres - so, here's one for the kid in the back. (Ha ha)

This weekend I finally got to enjoy the night life in Firenze and, needless to say, I know I am going to enjoy going out here! :) Thursday night was our official first night out. All of my wonderful roommates and I went out for appertivo which is where you go to a bar and order a drink and then get free appetizers with the drink. We went to a classy little bar called Noir thats a little bit past the Ponte Vecchio. It was unbelievably cool in there and we had a great time. Then most of the girls decided we wanted to go dancing. Just around the corner from us is a club called Twice which I'm pretty much in love with now. I will tell you why: There is no cover charge!!! Which is amazing in itself, but also they have a huge dance floor with a DJ that plays a large assortment of music which includes rap, hip hop, and pop. Wonderful for dancing. PLUS you don't have to buy any drinks to stay there (which is good because the average drink costs 8 euro!) Anyway, it was definitely a good time and I am so excited that we found that place!

My friend Billy from St. Norbert and two of his roommates who are studying in Rome this semester came to visit for the weekend. We were all set to play tour guide for these boys, but it has been raining all weekend. So Friday, they wanted to go out and experience the night life as well. So we traveled past the Duomo to a little bar called the Fish Pub, but it wasn't what we were looking for, so we ended up going to our trusty favorite dance place Twice :) haha. Which was a million times more fun than the first night we were there too! Downside, stepped on a piece of glass and my foot bled for 20 minutes...ouch! Luckily Amy's the most amazing person in the world and assumed the roll of doctor for me! We got back pretty late..well early I guess that night but hoped on waking up early and giving the boys a tour of Firenze the next day.
So we woke up and it was pouring again, so they came over and hung out at the apartment all day with my roommates. It was tons of fun! Then we made a huge spaghetti dinner for everyone and since the boys wanted to go out again, we went to. Now, listen. This is not normal for either me or Amy - we were unbelievably tired and weren't exactly stoked to go out again. But we got ready and went and luckily, some unexpected turn of events happened and we came home early! YES! :) Amy and I watched a movie then and I talked with some of my favorite people from back home and went to bed.
Today has been cold, rainy, and very lazy for us. I did homework the whole day and just rested. It was a great Sunday if you ask me! :)

Now - for my feelings about being here away from home (We all love this part - I know):

I am doing good - I haven't cried in like 5 days! You can all be excited for me- I will let you! My apartment is feeling more comfortable to me and my roommates make me super happy so it's easy to have fun here. I still, of course, miss home and hound my family and a certain someone that visiting me is still the best idea in the whole world :)

OK, more homework for me now. I'm still working on the picture posting on here, but it seems to hate me for some reason. Ouch.
Buono sera!
